About Us

#
Main Camp
Nestled on the banks of the majestic Limpopo River, is a place where the passage of time has left little impression, where dreams of experiencing Africa in all its splendour still come true. Samaria Safaris was established in 1997, and is a family owned and run operation. We take care to maintain a high standard of service to our guests, and have a long and happy track record of satisfied clients. We invite you to join us on an epic journey, to allow us to exceed even your highest expectations.

Our camp is situated perfectly to view a number of exciting tourist attractions. We share a border with the resort of Tshipise, which boasts a hot water spring, healing waters and swimming pools, mini golf and a restaurant.
There are lion and buffalo breeding projects nearby, as well as local artists who produce authentic African art, curios and crafts. We are only 30 minutes from two golf courses. One of these boasts a unique green on the other side of a river. The only way to get to the green and finish the hole is by a small pontoon boat. Other activities include Micro-lighting, horse riding, game drives, fishing and nature walks or just relaxing by the swimming pool.
Arrangements can be made for these short day excursions, or you may wish to go on more extended visits to various tourist attractions. These include:
Victoria Falls
Chobe National Park
Kruger National Park
Lake Kariba
Golf Safaris though South Africa.
Cape Town
Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Drakensberg Mountains

Camp Info

#
Braai Fire pit
Samaria Safaris is situated in the Northern-most corner of the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Our camp is built on the banks of Hemmingway's "Grey-green greasy Limpopo River," directly opposite the world-renowned Tuli Block National Park in Botswana. This area is famous for it's spectacular sunsets, varied birdlife and interesting vegetation. Elephants frequently visit us from Botswana, and it's not uncommon to find herds of up to a hundred elephant gathered around the waterhole in front of the camp. The property consists of Riverene forest, grassy flood plains and Sandstone outcrops, which stick out amongst the striking mopane veldt. On the whole, winters in the region are mild, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 6°C to a maximum of 30°C (April to August).
The area lies at an altitude of between 500m and 700m above sea level.
