SANDS-Sportsmen Assisting Nebraska's Disabled Sportsmen
is a non-Profit service hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The SANDS program helps link people with disabilities to able bodied men and women so they can participate in outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. It is the mission of the SANDS program to provide people with disabilities the assistance they need to become more independent by participating in outdoor activities that they are interested in. Whether it's the first time participating in the outdoors, or the joyful return to that which was once loved and thought to be lost. SANDS works to break down those walls that keep people with disabilities locked away.
It is the hope of the SANDS program that by participating in the different activities that each person's quality of life will reach new heights.
It is in conjunction with the efforts of able-bodied individuals who volunteer their time and knowledge of the outdoors that people with disabilities reach new levels of personal success.
